Last week I had the good fortune of meeting John Fairbrother, who has the best name for a priest EVER and who is the director of
Vaughan Park Anglican Retreat Centre in Auckland, New Zealand. His stay at Mount Calvary kicked off his own three-month sabbatical. We had our run of a nearly empty house for most of the week, and it was fun dishing about calling, burnout, church politics, you name it.

On the last day of his retreat, I took John to La Superica (Kaarl: "Me like!") before dropping him at the bus station. He's on his way to the UK to spend a few months with his son and daughter, before heading back to New Zealand. John kindly invited me to visit Vaughan Park, which I would love to do.
